Message from the Galime's
Jody & Michael Galime
We are proud to select Abraham House as this year’s recipient of the Utica Mayor’s Benefit Gala. This organization provides dignity, comfort, and specialized support to those in need of end of life care. They do this while eliminating financial burdens on families in our community.
Experiencing loss of a loved one is indescribable, yet something we all understand too well. It is our honor to help such a compassionate organization continue their mission set forth by Dr. A. L. Shaheen to provide terminally ill guests and their families a safe and loving home during the most trying of times.
We know our community is one of a kind, and it shines through each and every one of you with your kindness and generosity. We hope you will join us on May 30, 2026 as we “light the way” in true Utica fashion.
Last year, Abraham House publicly issued Vision 2035, a statement expressing their commitment to own and operate 10 homes within the next 10 years. The reason behind their promise is a significant growth of those in need for their services throughout our community. The opening of a second home has allowed Abraham House to serve more families, currently they have only been able to serve 39% of those requesting services.
Losing a loved one takes a piece of you forever. To care for those who have a terminal illness can sometimes become unmanageable. Abraham House provides guests with a safe and secure home environment as well as the compassion and comfort of a surrogate family through their round the clock caregivers. No one should have to be turned away when help is needed for someone to complete their living.
Help Abraham House grow with 10 homes within the next 10 years by joining Mayor and Mrs. Galime along with Abraham House executive leadership and board members for “Light The Way” Utica Mayor’s Benefit Gala 2026.
Sincerely,
Michael & Jody Galime
